TastingASEAN Street Food Delicacies Through Contemporary Art
The ASEAN Culture House, operated by theKorea Foundation, is pleased to present ‘Hororok Chopchop Omulomul,’ acontemporary art exhibition on the theme of ASEAN Street Food.
This exhibition presents creativeinterpretations and audiovisual translations of five teams of Koreancontemporary artists and one Thai contemporary artist under the theme of ASEANstreet food. Each artist recreated what they felt and experienced whiletraveling to the ASEAN states using various media, such as video, sound,sculpture, installation, and more, and tracked the history and exchange ofstreet food between ASEAN countries.
Viewers will be able to observe how ASEANstreet food’s unique character as well as how its trans-regional creativity andabundant contexts have inspired the artists featured in this exhibition. Bylooking at the various artworks, viewers will also be able to reminisce abouttheir personal memories of ASEAN countries related to travel and street foodand, consequently, predict patterns of new connections and exchanges that willbe made between countries in the near future when the contactless environmentwill finally come to an end.
