หอศิลป์บ้านจิม ทอมป์สัน ขอเชิญเข้าร่วมนิทรรศการ รู ป ระ ลึก Mo num en ts นิทรรศการเดี่ยวโดยศิลปินจากเชียงใหม่ ส้ม ศุภปริญญา ภัณฑารักษ์โดย กฤติยา กาวีวงศ์ จัดขึ้นภายใต้โครงการทุนสร้างสรรค์ศิลปะวิดีโอเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้เพื่อรำลึกถึงดินห์ คิว. เล ร่วมมือกับ หอศิลป์บ้านจิม ทอมป์สัน; Outpost Art Organisation, เวียดนาม; Museion, อิตาลี; พิพิธภัณฑ์ศิลปะร่วมสมัยฮิโรชิม่า, ญี่ปุ่น; Kunsthal Charlottenborg, เดนมาร์ก; และ Rockbund Art Museum, จีน
ส้ม ศุภปริญญา ศิลปินจากเชียงใหม่ ได้รับทุนสร้างสรรค์จากมูลนิธิฮานเนฟเก้นส์ประจำปี 2567 นำเสนอผลงานจัดวิดีโอจัดวางชุดใหม่ในชื่อ “รู ป ระ ลึก” ซึ่งสานต่อการสำรวจปัญหาสิ่งแวดล้อมที่ยังคงค้างคามาจากอดีต โดยสะท้อนถึงประเทศไทยและประเทศเพื่อนบ้านในช่วงสงครามเย็น ศิลปินติดตามร่องรอยของนโยบายการพัฒนาและโครงสร้างพื้นฐานที่ส่งผลต่อสภาพแวดล้อมของภูมิภาคในระยะยาว
ผลงานชิ้นใหม่นี้จัดแสดงเคียงคู่กับผลงานจัดวางที่ได้รับการปรับปรุงใหม่ในชื่อ “Paradise of the Blind” ซึ่งหยิบยกเอกสารจดหมายเหตุ การเซ็นเซอร์ และหนังสือต้องห้ามในภูมิภาคมาเป็นวัตถุดิบในการสร้างสรรค์ ทั้งสองผลงานร่วมกันตั้งคำถามต่อ “มรดกแห่งความก้าวหน้า” และความเปราะบางระหว่างประวัติศาสตร์ อำนาจ และสิ่งแวดล้อม

Jim Thompson Art Center invites you to MO NUM EN TS, a solo exhibition by Chiang Mai-based artist Som Supaparinya, curated by Gridthiya Gaweewong. This exhibition is presented as part of the Han Nefkens Foundation – Southeast Asian Video Art Production Grant 2024 In memory of Dinh Q. Lê, and in collaboration with Jim Thompson Art Center; Outpost Art Organisation, Vietnam; Museion, Italy; Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art, Japan; Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Denmark; and Rockbund Art Museum, China.
Chiang Mai–based artist Som Supaparinya, recipient of the Han Nefkens Foundation—Southeast Asian Video Art Production Grant 2024, presents ‘MO NUM EN TS’, a new video installation that continues her inquiry into unresolved environmental issues rooted in the past. Reflecting on Thailand and its neighboring countries during the Cold War, she traces how development and infrastructure policies have shaped the region’s ecological conditions.
This new commission will be shown alongside a reworked version of her earlier installation ‘Paradise of the Blind’, which engages with archival materials, censorship, and banned books in the region. Together, these works question the legacy of progress and the fragile balance between history, power, and the environment
