2011
BEWARE OF ARTISTS THEY MIX WITH ALL CLASSES OF SOCIETY, 2011, found (original) t-shirt in Hue, Vietnam in 2003, size 28x25.5 inch
note* There are 35 edition of re-produce t-shirts (silk screen black text on white t-shirt) are sale at gallery shop.
Queen Victoria of England once said, “Beware of artists – they mix with all classes of society and are therefore most dangerous…” The same idea grown elsewhere. The point of view of the socialist mentality about artists is shown on a t-shirt I found in Hue, Vietnam in 2003, even though the country has had an ‘open door’ policy or Doi Moi since the 1990s. Artists are considered dangerous to national security in many countries in Asia, including Thailand, Myanmar, Laos and China. I reproduced the text on the t-shirt in order to stimulate discussion in contexts wherever the t-shirt goes.
